This website is run by Farlend, a digital commerce studio. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean Farlend.

We handle personal information in line with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). If you are in the UK or the European Union, the UK GDPR or the EU GDPR may also apply to how we handle your information. This policy explains what we collect and what you can ask us to do with it.

When you use the contact form. The form collects your name, your email address, the type of project, your timeline and your message. When you press send, it sends them to us by email through Resend. We only receive your message if the form tells you it was sent; if it shows an error, nothing has reached us.

When you email us. We receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message.

When you visit the site. We use Vercel Web Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages they view. For each page view it may record the page address, the website that referred you, your approximate location, and your browser, operating system and device type. Vercel states that this data is anonymous and that visitors are not tracked across other websites.

When your browser loads a page. This site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel receives the technical details your browser sends to load a page, such as your IP address.

• To reply to your enquiry and prepare a proposal or quote.
• To plan and deliver work you have agreed with us.
• To keep the business and accounting records we need.
• To understand, in aggregate, which pages are visited so we can improve the site.

We do not sell your information or use it for advertising.

This website does not set any cookies of its own, and Vercel states that its analytics works without third-party cookies.

If you switch between light and dark mode, your choice is saved in your browser's local storage under the name "agency-theme", so the site remembers it next time. It stays on your device and is not sent to us. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes it.

We use a small number of service providers, who handle information only to provide their service to us:

• Vercel, which hosts this website and provides its analytics.
• Gmail, provided by Google, which hosts the inbox your emails reach.
• Resend, which delivers messages sent through our contact form.

Some of these providers may store or process information outside the country you are in.

The fonts on this site are served from this website itself, so loading a page does not contact Google or any other font service.

If we work on your online store, we may have access to customer and order data held on your platform. We use it only to do the work agreed for that project.

Enquiries that do not lead to a project are kept for 90 days and then deleted. Emails and records from client projects are kept for five years.

Analytics data is held by Vercel. We only see it as totals, not as information about individual visitors.

Your theme choice stays in your browser until you clear it.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask us to:

• Tell you what information we hold about you and give you a copy.
• Correct information that is wrong or incomplete.
• Delete your information.
• Stop or limit how we use it.

To make a request, email us at the address below. We may need to confirm it is you before we act on it. You may also have the right to complain to the data protection authority where you live.

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date at the top of it.
